Cranbrook Care Continues Strong Growth

Privately owned and multi-award award winning aged care provider, Cranbrook Care, has acquired a 21,000m2 property in Bella Vista for $6.2 million in north western Sydney, to develop its fourth aged care facility in NSW.

The company plans to build a 140 bed facility on the site to open in 2013, aimed at the aged population in this fast growing area of the city.

The acquisition is part of the company’s expansion plans to increase its portfolio of aged care beds to 500 in NSW by 2013 from its current level of 212 beds.

As part of its expansion plans, the group has promoted Ms Kerry Mann, currently Group Executive Manager, to Chief Executive Officer, while recruiting Ms Deb Heagney to fill the position of Group Executive Manager.

The current CEO, Mr Campbell Meldrum continues as an Executive Director at board level and will focus on acquisition and the development of the new facilities.

Cranbrook Care is the parent company of three aged care facilities in NSW, including William Cape Gardens on the Central Coast, Lansdowne Gardens on Sydney’s lower north shore and also joint ownership of a facility at Minchinbury in Sydney’s west.

Lansdowne Gardens opened in 2010 and has set a new standard in Aged Care. It is a six star property with personal assistants, a wellness centre, hydrotherapy pool and a wide range of hotel-type services provided under one roof.

Lansdowne Gardens has been honoured with some of the most prestigious awards in Australia, including the 2011 Property Council of Australia award for Best Retirement Living Development; the Aged Care Association Australia Building Award 2010 for Best Renovated Extra Service Facility; the Urban Taskforce Development Excellence Award for Retirement Living; the Master Builders Association Housing Awards for Aged Care Buildings; and the Best Implementation Award at the Aged Care Industry IT Awards. Lansdowne Gardens also received highly commended awards in The Office of the Valuer General Heritage Award and LandMark White Property Development Award at Australian Property Institutes’ annual awards.

Ms Mann said “Cranbrook Care is well placed to develop our business further, while improving the level of care to all our residents”.
